Paintball Mask
A paintball mask may also be referred to as a set of goggles.
These are integral safety devices. In addition to protecting the eyes
from harm, they also must cover the mouth, nose, and ears of a player.
Some are also designed to protect the throat as well.
The lens of a paintball mask are designed to protect against a specific
speed. This is at or below 300 feet per second. They are not designed
to protect against paintballs traveling at faster speeds. However, it
is standard regulation for markers to fire below that speed. This means
that most guns designed for this activity are incapable of posing a
safety risk to the lens.
A paintball mask may have double lens. As the name suggest, both a
set of inside and outside lens exist. These are separated by an air
chamber. The double lens serve to discourage fogging.
